New service easing pressure on our Emergency Departments

A third Urgent Care Service (UCS) has opened up in the southern end of our District, with the Carlton facility opening its doors to patients on Wednesday 31 January.

The service will make it easier for the St George community to access care quickly and avoid unnecessary trips to the Emergency Department.

People are encouraged to visit a UCS when they have an injury or illness that can't wait for an appointment with their regular GP but is not life-threatening. The community can access the service by calling Healthdirect on 1800 022 222.

There is already a UCS located at Sutherland and a federally funded Urgent Care Clinic at Maroubra, both of which opened in 2023.
